The EXR is a 2-way, bi-ampliﬁed, 200-Watt, near-ﬁeld, ported studio monitor. It features two 100-Watt ampliﬁers, a single 6.5” high excursion hemispherical woofer, and a 1” dual concentric diaphragm tweeter with integral wave guide, for superior off-axis response.

The EXR can be used with or without a subwoofer and the rear panel incorporates two completely independent balanced input stages with XLR connectors. The main input is for standard 80Hz bass-managed operation, and makes the SAT 6.5 EXR fully compatible with Blue Sky’s SUB 12, SUB 212 and SUB 15 Universal. This input features an 80Hz high-pass network, with phase correction
ﬁlter. Because of the very unique design of the electronics and the studio monitor, when the 80Hz input is used, this ported monitor has all the characteristics of a sealed box.

The second “Extended Range” input is designed to be used for applications where a sub is impractical, or as a second ‘conﬁdence input’, to allow the engineer or mixer to quickly compare between bass-managed and extended range modes.

Wall Mount Options

The SAT 5 MK III is compatible with OmiMount® 30 Series brackets, via the M6 X 12 inserts located in the bottom of the cabinet. The OmniMount® type 30 brackets are designed to support up to 30 pounds of weight when properly installed. Each 100-Watt bi-amplified SAT 6.5 MK II satellite speaker employs a 6.5″ hemispherical driver and 1″ ferrite tweeter with a dual concentric diaphragm and integral wave guide.

WALL MOUNT OPTIONS: The SAT 6.5 MK II is compatible with OmiMount® 60 Series brackets, via the 1/4 X 20 inserts located in the bottom of the cabinet. The OmniMount® type 60 brackets are designed to support up to 60 pounds of weight when properly installed. Blue Sky’s SAT 265 is a 2-way, tri-amplified, 300-Watt, High Output Near-Field Monitor which features two 6.5” high excursion hemispherical woofers and a 1” dual ring radiator tweeter with integral waveguide, for superior off-axis response. Powered by a dedicated low distortion 100-Watt amplifier for each of the 6.5” woofers, it also features a low distortion 100-Watt amplifier for the tweeter. The SAT 265 effortlessly delivers clean and accurate sound with a frequency response of 80Hz to 30kHz +/-3.0dB (200Hz to 15kHz +/-1.5dB) for full compatibility with Blue Sky’s SUB 15 Universal, SUB 212, SUB 12 and BMC (Bass Management Controller). Blue Sky’s SAT 8 is a three way, tri-amplified, 300-Watt, compact mid-field monitor which features an 8” high excursion hemispherical woofer, an ultra low distortion 4” hemispherical midrange driver, and a 1” dual ring radiator tweeter with integral waveguide, for superior off-axis response. To reduce destructive cabinet diffraction reflections, Blue Sky has developed and incorporated into the baffle, the proprietary “Multi-Aperture Acoustic Diffraction Absorber”, which helps to maintain smooth on and off axis frequency response throughout the critical MF and HF frequency range, without the need for a large wave-guide or horn.

The SAT 8 is powered by a dedicated low distortion 100-Watt amplifier for the 8” woofer, a low distortion 100-Watt amplifier for the midrange, and a low distortion 100-Watt amplifier for the tweeter. The 500-Watt SAT 12s use a 12″ high excursion hemispherical woofer, an ultra-low distortion 4″ hemispherical mid-range driver and a 1″ dual concentric diaphragm tweeter with integral wave guide for superior off-axis response. To reduce destructive cabinet diffraction effects, Blue Sky has incorporated the proprietary ‘Multi-Aperture Acoustic Diffraction Absorber’ into the baffle, which helps to maintain smooth on and off-axis frequency response throughout the critical mid and high frequency ranges, without the need for a large wave guide or horn.
